Who We Are

Good Shepherd Preschool is a ministry of The Church of the Good Shepherd. Our dedicated Christian staff teaches children to love learning, communicate effectively and accept challenge. The program develops self-reliance, encourages self-discipline, promotes self-esteem and awakens creativity. We strive to teach children to live in harmony with others, to laugh, have fun and enjoy childhood.

How We Teach

By providing developmentally appropriate opportunities, we create a nurturing environment to meet the individual needs of each child. These opportunities encourage spiritual, social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual growth. Here is a list of areas we teach in:

Enrollment

Our classes are multi-age. They operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Classes begin on the Wednesday following Labor Day and continue through mid-June. There is an open house the week before classes begin.

Enrollment is open to children of any race, creed, sex, cultural or ethnic background. Children must be toilet tranied before the beginning of the preschool year.

Tuition & Registration

Tuition is to be paid in monthly installments. Payments are due the first of each month.  A late fee of $10 is charged on all payments 5 days or more overdue. May and June combined tuition is due on May 1st.

A non-refundable registration fee is $55 and a half-year supply fee of $25 are due at the time of enrollment. The second half of the supply fee ($25) is due by January 31. 

2 days - $105 monthly ( $142.50 combined May/June - May 1st )
3 days - $145 monthly ( $195.00 combined May/June - May 1st
4 days - $200 monthly ( $270.00 combined May/June - May 1st )
5 days - $215 monthly ( $292.50 combined May/June - May 1st )

Family Involvement

Family involvement is a cornerstone of the Good Shepherd Preschool. Families are expected to give eighteen hours a year to the program. We strongly encourage you to do this by spending one morning each month helping in your child's classroom. However, throughout the year, other opportunities to serve will be available.

Smiling faces, excitement about learning, and singing voices will let you know you have arrived at Good Shepherd Preschool. By creating a loving and nurturing Christian environment, I hope to provide a place for you and your children to find the love of the Lord shown in how we play together, work together and build our community together. I believe that children are a precious gift from God and that we are all entrusted with helping them grow into His fullness. Come and be part of our program. Sing, play, pretend and learn with us.

Vicki Van Blaricom has a BA in education from Central Washington University.  Her 25 years experience includes teaching in preschools and public schools, providing in-home childcare, and parenting foster children.  Vicki is a mother of four, and an active member of the Episcopal Church.
