Good Shepherd Sermons & Blogs

Lady Bridget Akparanta thanks Good Shepherd for our support of the Glorious Divine Care Widows Foundation, an NGO in eastern Nigeria dedicated to assisting women and children in rural areas.

Good morning, everyone,

Thank you for this opportunity to give our feedback to Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. We sincerely thank you for your generous financial support towards our widows’ outreach program, held on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Your kindness and commitment to serving vulnerable members of society in the eastern region of Nigeria have made a significant impact in the lives of many widows.

Through your support, we successfully conducted outreach programs at two locations, reaching and impacting over 60 widows in total. The funds provided were used to purchase essential food items, distribute wrappers to the widows, and provide cash stipends to assist with their daily upkeep and personal needs.

The food supplies helped ease the burden of household expenses, the wrappers restored dignity and brought joy to the recipients, while the cash support provided much-needed relief for their immediate needs. The gratitude expressed by the widows was overwhelming, and their smiles and prayers are a testament to the difference your generosity has made.

In addition, Rev. Victor a Board Member of the NGO was present during the outreach to share the word of God and encourage the widows.

We lost 2 widows in each branch this year, of whom one was buried on June 20, 2026, and the NGO supported the family of the bereaved significantly.

There are also some vulnerable widows who are bedridden and can’t come out for our outreach. the NGO officials visit them with gifts to encourage and also pray with them.

On behalf of our NGO and all the beneficiaries, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Good Shepherd for partnering with us in this mission of compassion and care.

Your support has brought hope, encouragement, and practical assistance to over 60 widows, and we pray that God richly blesses and rewards the congregation for your kindness and generosity.

Thank you for helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of these women.
