Get to Know Us
When?
On Sunday mornings, join us for worship at 8:00 or 10:30, on-site or online.
From Tuesday through Friday, the Good Shepherd office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call us at (253) 839-6100 during office hours or leave a voice mail.
On Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m., the Federal Way Community Caregiving Network helps people with rental assistance and gas vouchers ... first come, first serve. You must live in Federal Way or Northeast Tacoma.
On Saturdays at 1:00 p.m., our Saturday Community Meal is served to anyone who's hungry. This is an effort we accomplish as a team with several other congregations.
Where?
The Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 345 S. 312th St., Federal Way, WA 98003.
Want to mail us? Please use P.O. Box 3108, Federal Way, WA 98063. Please note that our mail goes to a different ZIP code.
Our folks come from as far away as Des Moines, Auburn, Puyallup, Milton, Tacoma, and Seattle. We're located just five minutes' drive from I-5.
And then what?
OK, so a map is all well and good, but what if you're just not sure about coming to church?
Maybe Christians have always seemed a little weird but strangely compelling. Or maybe you've been hurt or at least put off by a past experience with flawed church people, but you sincerely want to approach God and don't know how.
First, understand that Christianity isn't just one thing. There are many Christianities in the world, and we're ... one of them. You won't find any perfect people here, but we pray that you will find a warm welcome, and we'll do our best to make that happen. Know when you come that there are no strings attached to your visit ... only heartfelt invitations.
If you're unfamiliar with our style of worship, don't worry about how you will look to others. Nobody's silently judging you for what you don't yet understand! You're not alone, and we're all continually learning. We believe that God's grace is at work in all things.
Do you have kids and want to bring them along? Please do! We love hearing children's voices in church. We know (and have experienced ourselves) that parents are far more
anxious about their children's behavior in church than anyone else is. We expect kids to act in age-appropriate ways, even if that means wiggling, wandering, crying, or occasionally shouting "Amen!" about one second after everybody else did.
Whether you eagerly join our congregation or whether we never see you again, you will bless us with your presence and we will seek to be a blessing to you as well.
So just show up. And ask questions ... lots and lots of questions. You will never get in trouble at Good Shepherd for asking questions, because we believe that questions are fuel for a faith-filled life.
