Good Shepherd Seeks Part-Time Bookkeeper

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd is hiring a Part-Time Bookkeeper.


This is estimated to be a 5 hour/week, non-exempt hourly position with no medical/dental/pension/403(b) benefits offered. Much, but not all, of the work can be performed remotely.

 

Tasks include and are not limited to:

·       Verify all current invoices and pay vendors in a timely manner;

·       Post all checks and deposits into the accounting system;

·       Track and pay authenticated credit card invoice;

·       Prepare and issue payroll checks and all payroll reports;

·       Process quarterly taxes and yearly property taxes in a timely manner;

·       Reconcile all pass-through monies and bank statements for the church’s accounts monthly with the assistance of the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer;

·       Close and balance accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually;

·       Be available for audits as needed;

·       Provide information as requested by Treasurer, Vestry, Rector and/or Parish Administrator;

·       Other related duties as assigned.

 

Critical requirements include 2 years’ bookkeeping experience; familiarity with church bookkeeping in particular; familiarity with GAAP; demonstrated consistent accuracy, and attention to detail; reliability and timeliness; good communication and teamworking skills.
